Facial Trauma

Trauma can be the result of various types of injuries including motor vehicle accidents, falling or being struck with a blunt object, and more. Facial trauma can range from injuries to the teeth, injuries of the skin and bones of the face.   Maxillofacial Surgeons are specially trained to handle this type of trauma.

Affected areas can include:

  • Facial lacerations
  • Soft tissue injuries of the skin and gums
  • Hard tissue injuries such as fractured jaws
  • Avulsed (knocked out) teeth
  • Bones around the eyes
  • Facial nerves
  • Salivary glands
